Today we often
talk about "ayurvedic massage." Then you’ll probably think of oil sooner
than later, or of someone who is lying on a beautiful wooden massage table, in an
exotic spa environment, or of a spa trip to India. But Ayurveda actually has much
more to offer when it comes to massage and everything related to it. And what Ayurveda
has to offer there, however, can rather be classified as a scientific approach.
This scientific approach is based on the 5 elements used in all scientific branches
of the Vedic tradition and also can be found in the Western scientific tradition.
Even the most modern frontline science - that of quantum physics, field theory,
and consciousness research - have a rather straightforward connection with this
science based on the 5 elements. A smaal example to enlighten you on this
introduction: one of the 5 elements is Air and according to Ayurveda this
element has its seat in the skin. Every interaction with, or treatment of the
skin therefore implies an influence on the element of air. Proper management of
the air element according to Ayurveda has a profound effect on body and mind. It
is from these kinds of - really Ayurvedic - points of view, that we in our massage
modules like to work with our students. This is what really makes for the “ayurvedic”
in ‘ayurvedic massage’!!! Come and study with us, and explore real Ayurveda.
